Project:

To design a space that integrates new furnishings with existing ones. The layout of each room should be flexible in order to accommodate for a variable number of occupants throughout the year.

Solution:

The new layout of the space helps to delineate the function of each room while the neutral, muted color palette creates a cohesive look throughout the home. Despite the dark nature of certain spaces, the chosen hues help to brighten and lift the spirit of each room. The textural contrast between planes is subtle yet allows for the eye to dynamically shift from surface to surface.

Project:

Design a home away from home for a Norwegian graduate student in Midtown Manhattan. Create a light weight look on a fixed budget while not compromising style.

Solution:

With a small footprint it is often hard to make a space feel cozy while not appearing cluttered. Even though I knew this apartment may be only a temporary space, I still wanted it to feel like a home. In the end, the client was given a design that was youthful in nature yet rich in substance. A place where one would want to call home.
