‘SUPER3D’ is a term developed in conjunction with our use of computer gaming software as a generative tool for architectural projects. Computer gaming engines rely heavily on the use of advanced mapping techniques in order to create the illusion of 3-Dimensionality.
The lobby of the Biltmore is conditioned by the adjacencies of the patterns; the space is in part coming from the patterning. I decided to break down the pattern to its most basic elements and use these geometries to produce an extension of space. I literally am producing space through the interconnection of the commonalities of the pattern.
